A genus of yeastlike budding fungi pathogenic to humans. At room temperature these fungi grow in a moldlike mycelial form, and at body temperature in a yeastlike form.
The former name of the yeast now called Paracoccidioides brasiliensis.
The species that causes North American blastomycosis, a rare fungal infection in humans.
