ABBR: IOQPTH A laboratory test to check for decrease in parathyroid hormone levels of more than 50% within 10 min of resection of a parathyroid adenoma. The test is used to confirm that a presumptive parathyroid tumor removed surgically is the cause of a patient's hyperparathyroidism.
