Rationale
To assist in the diagnosis and monitoring of gluten-sensitive enteropathies that may damage intestinal mucosa.

Patient Preparation
There are no food, fluid, activity, or medication restrictions unless by medical direction.

Normal Findings
Method: Enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) for gliadin antibodies (IgA and IgG) and tissue transglutaminase antibodies (IgA and IgG): Negative; indirect immunofluorescence for endomysial antibodies: Negative.
