Antithyrotropin Receptor Antibodies: Binding Inhibition Antibodies and Stimulating Antibodies



Thyrotropin receptor antibodies, binding and stimulating: TSH receptor antibody (TRAb or TSHR); thyrotropin receptor binding antibody: thyrotropin-binding inhibitory immunoglobulin (TBII), TSH-binding inhibiting immunoglobulin; thyrotropin receptor stimulating antibody: long-acting thyroid stimulator (LATS), thyroid-stimulating immunoglobulins (TSI).


To assist in diagnosing Graves disease related to thyroid function.

Patient Preparation

There are no food, fluid, activity, or medication restrictions unless by medical direction.

Normal Findings

Method: Electrochemiluminescent immunoassay.
