Atopobium vaginae
(at″ŏ-pō′bē-ŭm vă-jī′nē″)
A species of anaerobic bacteria, formerly classified as lactobacilli, that contribute to bacterial vaginosis, esp. cases resistant to standard treatment with clindamycin or metronidazole.
