Patient Preparation
There are no food, fluid, activity, or medication restrictions unless by medical direction.

Normal Findings

  • Normal spondee threshold of about 6 to 10 dB (decibels) of the normal pure-tone threshold with 50% of the words presented being correctly repeated at the appropriate intensity (see study titled “Audiometry, Hearing Loss”).
  • Normal speech recognition with 90% to 100% of the words presented being correctly repeated at an appropriate intensity.
