Asparagus
(ă-spar′ă-gŭs)
[L. fr. Gr. asparagos]
A genus of liliaceous herbs. A. officianalis is cultivated as a vegetable for its edible shoots, which are a source of fiber, carotenoids, and vitamins C and K.
