[L. resorbere, to suck in]
1. Removal by absorption, as of an exudate or pus.
2. The removal of enamel from a tooth or calcium compounds from bone. It often results from pressure or vascular changes as in root resorption of deciduous teeth prior to shedding, or bone resorption on the pressure side during tooth movement.
