glioma
(glī-ō′mă )

pl. gliomata [glia + -oma]
1. A sarcoma of neuroglial origin.
2. A neoplasm or tumor composed of neuroglial cells, i.e., cells that provide the supportive structure for neurons. Examples of gliomas include astrocytomas, ependymomas, and oligodendrogliomas.
