Brodmann areas
(brōd′man″)
[Korbinian Brodmann, Ger. neurologist, 1868-1918]
The division of the cerebral cortex into 47 areas. This was originally done on the basis of cytoarchitectural characteristics, but the areas are now classified according to their functions.
