[ileum + -itis]
Inflammation of the ileum. The most common cause is Crohn disease.

SYMPTOMS
Patients may have pain in the right lower quadrant of the abdomen, often with diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, weight loss, and fevers. The stool may contain pus, blood, or mucus.
