(păn′nŭs)

[L., cloth]
1. Superficial vascular inflammation of the cornea. The area is cloudy, and its surface is uneven because it is infiltrated with a film of new capillary blood vessels. This condition may be seen in trachoma, acne rosacea, eczema, and as a result of irritation in granular conjunctivitis.
