[dys- + -praxis + -ia]
A disturbance in the programming, control, and execution of volitional movements. It cannot be explained by absence of comprehension, inadequate attention, or lack of cooperation. It is usually associated with a stroke, head injury, or other condition affecting the cerebral hemispheres.
