resuscitator
(ri-sŭs′ĭ-tāt-ŏr )

[L. resuscitare, to raise up again, rebuild]
A device to assist breathing, used to oxygenate and ventilate a patient who can no longer breathe spontaneously. Most resuscitators are portable and capable of delivering high concentrations of oxygen.
