Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
ABBR: CDC A division of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services that is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, and investigates and controls various diseases, esp. those that have epidemic potential. The agency is also responsible for national programs to improve laboratory conditions and encourage health and safety in the workplace.
