Coccidia
(kŏk-sĭd′ē-ă)
[Gr. kokkos, berry]
A subclass of the phylum Apicomplexa (apical microtubule complex) of the kingdom Protista. All are intracellular parasites usually infecting epithelial cells of the intestine and associated glands.
