hypotension
(hī″pō-ten′shŏn )

[ hypo- + tension ]
1. A deficiency in tone or tension.
2. A decrease of the systolic and diastolic blood pressure to below normal. This occurs, for example, in shock, hemorrhage, dehydration, sepsis, Addison's disease, and in many other diseases and conditions.
