Chryseobacterium
(kris″ē-ō-bak-tēr′ē-ŭm)
[Gr. chryseos, chryous, golden + bacterium]
A genus of nonfermentative, glucose-oxidizing, yellow gram-negative rod-shaped bacteria. Some species cause opportunistic infections in severely immunosuppressed people.
