[L. reflexio, a bending back]
1. The condition of being turned back on itself, as when the peritoneum passes from the wall of a body cavity to and around an organ and back to the body wall.
2. The throwing back of a ray of radiant energy from a surface not penetrated.
3. Mental consideration of something previously considered.
