Calliphora vomitoria
(kă-lif′ŏ-ră vom″ĭ-tōr′ē-ă)
A common blowfly that is the type species of the genus Calliphora, of the family Calliphoridae. Its larvae (maggots) sometimes infest human wounds, causing myiasis.
