Ctenocephalides

[Gr. kteis, stem kteno-, comb + cephalo-+ -ides]
A genus of fleas of the order Siphonaptera. They are intermediate hosts of Dipylidium caninum and may also transmit cat scratch disease, epidemic typhus, bacillary angiomatosis, and rickettsiosis to human beings.
