1. The center of a structure.
2. A cylindrical tissue specimen. SEE: 3. Core muscle.
4. The center of a lesion as seen on radiologic imaging, i.e., a part of the lesion that appears to be irreversibly damaged.
5. The portion of a tooth that is visible above the gum line. The core of a tooth does not include its root.
