Burkitt lymphoma
(bŭrk′kĭt)
[Denis P. Burkitt, Ugandan physician, 1911-1993]
A rapidly growing, B-cell, non-Hodgkin lymphoma. It is the most common lymphoma among children aged 5 to 10 years. There is a strong association of this malignancy with Epstein-Barr virus.
