A tool developed by the Chronic Kidney Disease Epidemiology in collaboration with the National Institutes of Diabetes, Digestive, and Kidney Diseases to estimate the glomerular filtration rate of patients with differing serum creatinine levels. The equation takes into account the patient's gender, race, age, body weight, and history of organ transplantation or of diabetes mellitus.
