Current Procedural Terminology

ABBR: CPT A coding system maintained and published annually by the American Medical Association classifying diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and services performed by physicians and other health care providers. Health care professionals use the CPT to identify services and procedures for which they bill public or private health insurance programs; many managed care and other insurance carriers base their reimbursements on the CPT.
