Stachybotrys
(stak″ē-bo′tris)
[Gr. stachys, ear (of corn or wheat) + Gr. botrys, a bunch or cluster of grapes]
A widespread genus of approx. 50 species of filamentous fungi (molds). Most Stachybotrys species inhabit materials rich in cellulose.
