(wŏn′thrē′bāt′ă-dē′gloo′kan″)
ABBR: BG A polysaccharide component of the cell wall of most fungi. Serum assays for BG can be used to screen susceptible patients for infection with aspergillosis, candidiasis, or Pneumocystis jiroveci pneumonia.
