ABBR: AHIMA A professional organization for the management of medical records. AHIMA offers seven credentials in four areas of practice: health information management, coding, data analysis, and privacy. Two credentials require formal education; the other credentials are acquired by testing and work experience. AHIMA requires regular continuing education of its members to maintain their credentials.
